NEOS 2010
South Aberdeenshire Abstracts
The members of SABAB were overwhelmed by the response to their exhibition at the Old School, Catterline as part of this year's North East Open Studios (NEOS). The week saw nearly 500 visitors through the doors and sales which exceeded all their expectations!

The event opened on the Friday evening with a extremely well attended launch night which also attracted the local press. The group were extremely moved by the hugely positive comments left in the visitor's book raving about the superb warm and welcoming venue and its hosts and also their enjoyment of the exhibition of the artworks on display.

The SABAB collective is a diverse group, yet they find that planning events together creates real synergy. Sharing their combined talents sees them building on the strengths of their early success. SABAB’s main aim is to promote abstract and contemporary artwork and engage with the local community to create a wider awareness and appreciation of the genre. The NEOS event really has helped the group achieve their key aims.

The group was also delighted to find that they had discovered some future members of SABAB as a number of local children tried their hand at creating some abstract artworks. Inspired by the works on display the children decided to enter their pictures into the exhibition and were thrilled to find that they were all sold!
"NEOS 2010 ~ Cheers!"
